The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.

Counselling and psychotherapy in Somerset and online for highly sensitive, introverted, and neurodivergent people, as well as those healing from emotional neglect, overwhelm, and feeling unseen.

Do you ever feel like a square peg in a round hole?

Hello, I'm Charlotte, a BACP registered psychotherapist and counsellor, based in Castle Cary, Somerset.

I’m here to help highly sensitive, introverted, and neurodivergent individuals, as well as those dealing with shame, anxiety, grief, depression, or trauma.

Together, we can work on managing overwhelming emotions, celebrating your unique self, and building a life where you can truly thrive.

Have you ever been told:

  • “Stop making a fuss and just get on with it”

  • “You’re too quiet / too sensitive / too emotional”

  • “You’re too much”

Maybe you’ve grown up feeling like your feelings were a problem to be fixed or ignored. You might not know how to express what you need anymore, or feel unsure who you really are underneath the masks you’ve learned to wear and the walls you’ve built around yourself.

Many of the people I work with are healing from emotional neglect, not necessarily something loud or dramatic, but that quiet sense of being unseen, unsupported, or expected to cope on your own.

You are not too much or too little. And you are not alone.

Maybe you feel like the 'black sheep' of your family, the one doing the deep work, feeling the hard feelings, asking the unspoken questions.

Or perhaps you’ve spent years living according to other people’s expectations, always wondering:
“What if I let go of all that and just… became myself?”

Therapy can be the space where you come back to you; where all emotions are welcome, and nothing needs to be hidden or fixed. You’re not broken, you’re just overwhelmed and need to find ways to reset your unique nervous system.

“Charlotte is warm, gentle, compassionate and deeply intuitive with a quality of stillness which is both containing and allowing, offering clients an experience of being accepted for who they are with no agenda.”

How we can work together

In therapy, all emotions are valid. You can feel heard and accepted exactly as you are, so you know that you matter and can feel proud of your unique personality, just as it is.

If you’ve experienced criticism, judgment, or emotional neglect, therapy can help you feel less self-conscious, more relaxed, and free to walk your own path without the heavy weight of worrying about what others expect or think.

Together, we’ll explore how experiences from your past, especially childhood, may have shaped limiting beliefs about yourself and the world around you. We can work to gently shift those beliefs, so you can move forward knowing your true value and worth.

Listening with empathy and acceptance is at the heart of what I will offer in our sessions. I’m an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and my approach is primarily Person-Centred, relational, and creative. I walk alongside you as your equal, encouraging you to explore your feelings and experiences in your own time and way.

I often draw on creative and experiential tools such as sand tray therapy to help you access and express feelings that may be difficult to put into words. I’m also committed to supporting clients in feeling more grounded and safe in their bodies, especially if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, scattered, or disconnected.

My aim is to help you understand how you have become the person you are today, empowering you to fulfil your potential and live the life you want.

Most importantly, I am here to support you on your journey, wherever it leads.
