The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.
– C.G. Jung
Working together to let go of stuck or unhelpful ways of being and embrace your authentic self.
Do you ever feel like a square peg in a round hole?
I’m here to help highly sensitive, introverted, and neurodivergent individuals, as well as those dealing with shame, anxiety, grief, depression, or trauma.
Together, we can work on managing overwhelming emotions, celebrating your unique self, and building a life where you can truly thrive.
Have you ever been told to 'stop making a fuss and just get on with it,' or that you’re ‘too quiet’, ‘too sensitive’ or conversely, that you’re ‘too much’, meaning you now don’t know what to do with your feelings or how you’re ‘supposed' to behave?
I'm Charlotte, a BACP registered psychotherapist and counsellor, based in Castle Cary, Somerset.
Since gaining my MA in 2010, I have worked with numerous people of all ages, many of whom have felt that their natural emotions have been dismissed and invalidated, that they are different from the norm or somehow 'wrong'; including those who are highly sensitive, introvert or neurodivergent.
I have also helped people who've felt held back by or stuck in anxiety, shame, grief, depression and trauma and I have seen countless times how restricting it can feel to worry about how people may perceive or respond to you and not be able to let go or move on from these feelings.
Perhaps you’ve been so preoccupied with what others think of you and your actions that you live according to their expectations rather than your true desires, leaving you feeling unfulfilled and lost in life.
You might feel like the 'black sheep' of your family or see a sibling as the 'golden child'. This could be because you are courageously confronting and working through challenging emotions and generational trauma that others may be denying or suppressing.
If you're ready to look at what's holding you back and make some positive changes in your life, please get in touch to either book a free, no obligation, 15- minute introductory call to discuss things further or to book your first full session with me.
“Charlotte is warm, gentle, compassionate and deeply intuitive with a quality of stillness which is both containing and allowing, offering clients an experience of being accepted for who they are with no agenda.”
How we can work together
In therapy, all emotions are valid. You can feel heard and accepted as you are, so you know that you matter too and that you can feel proud of your unique personality, exactly as it is.
If you've experienced a lot of criticism or judgment, therapy can empower you to feel less self conscious, to relax and tread your own path in life, free from the worries about what other people think of or expect from you.
Together we can work out how experiences in your past, particularly childhood, may have negatively impacted your current beliefs about yourself and the world around you. We can change those beliefs, so you can move forward knowing your true value and worth in life.
Listening empathically and accepting you exactly as you are, is at the heart of what I offer during therapy sessions.
I’m an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and the main basis of my approach will be Person-Centred. I will be alongside you as your equal, encouraging you to explore your feelings and experiences.
My aim is to help you understand how you have become the person you are today, in turn empowering you to fulfill your potential and live your life the way you want to.
Most importantly, I am here to support you in your journey, wherever it leads you.
